IT professional in Estonia in 2017 seems to be in high demand.

Following skills and qualities are being in demand from IT professionals these days:

- Continuously improving his/her skills and knowledge, is willing to learn. This skill is important in any area, but especially in technology, where development happens at a very fast pace. IT professional should have a will and interest in continuously learning innovations in the field in order to remain a professional.

- Is highly proficient in one of the programming languages, however is also aware and knowledgeable in other big programming languages. Diversifying knowledge and experience and being overall savvy in all sort of IT topics is a feature of a high level IT professional.

- Is experienced on the job, or has a few years experience in the field. As for any professional in any field, university degree or theoretical knowledge is not enough to be deemed a professional and succeed on the job. However having a university degree is certainly a big plus.

- Is fluent in English. This requirement is prevalent in many fields but especially in IT where international companies are usually the biggest employers in Estonia. In addition, English is overall useful for a professionals who want to keep up with the industry (let it be IT or other) as the largest amount of diverse information can be found in English.

- Is creative. Or can be innovative, can think outside the box. And once again this skill is not just IT field specific. Nowadays it is important to be able to come up with new solutions and ideas in order to stay competitive, to fix whatever is not working and provide better solutions.

- Is a team player, has good communication skills. How else can innovation and effectivity be achieved if not in the team with other professionals. Therefore this skills is extremely important in order to accomplish results having the qualities described above.
